Electric Grid

When available, Aguayuda uses an established electric grid to operate the water purification systems. The electric grid is by far the cheapest and simplest solution as a energy source for the water purification systems since most of the time there is very little, if any, investment required to obtain the electricity. Unfortunately, in many rural communities an electric grid infrastructure does not exist. If it does exist, often times the electricity is inconsistent and sporadic. This inconsistency can be very damaging to water purification systems. Hence, the importance of the verification of the reliability of the electric grid at our initial visit to the community.
