Background

More than one billion people in the world do not have access to safe drinking water. In many situations the problem is not the lack of water, but that the available water is contaminated and unsafe to drink.

Aguayuda (Agua = Water, Ayuda = Help) is prepared to provide to these communities appropriate water purification technologies such as state-of-the-art filtration systems or, for special cases, MVR or MSF evaporation systems.

Technology, however, is not the complete remedy to this immense problem. Training in the operation and maintenance of the system as well as water education is needed to make certain that the water purification system will be sustainable for many years to come.

The desire to improve the standard of living for many people in rural communities by providing not only the technology but also the education required to implement and maintain a water purification system is the foundation of Aguayuda.

Sabrina Zimmermann
President
Sabrina is an accountant who has worked as an accountant and corporate administrator in Germany, Uruguay, Honduras, Colombia and the United States. Sabrina speaks four languages (German, English, Spanish and French).

Linda Zimmer
Director
Linda has worked as a CFO and Administrative Officer in privately held and publicly traded companies for over 25 years, as well as several years as a teacher.

Artur Zimmer
Technical Director
Artur is a chemical engineer and entrepreneur who has been working in the food processing field for the past 35 years. Artur's work has included many projects involving state-of-the-art filtration and evaporation systems. He holds several patents in the area of thermal processing of food.

Simón Zimmer
Project Development Manager
Simón is an electrical engineer who has worked as a computer programmer, German language and computer teacher, as well as a volunteer in Bolivia, Ecuador and two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras. Simón has dual citizenship with Colombia and the United States and speaks English, German and Spanish fluently.
