Board of Directors

Aguayuda's Board of Directors consists of Artur and Linda Zimmer as well as the following three board members:

Doris Laumann - Karlsruhe, Germany
Certified Translator (German - English - Spanish)
Doris graduated from the Institute for Translation and Interpretation at Heidelberg University (1971). From 1971 to 1984, she worked in the translation office of a German engineering company operating worldwide. Since 1984, she has worked as a free-lance translator for a variety of customers (industrial firms, publishing houses, research labs, etc.).

James L. Peterson - Minnetonka, Minnesota
CEO of Itasca Systems, Inc.
James graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minnesota (BA Chemistry, 1981) and University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota (MBA, 1986). From 1984-2002, he worked in a variety of technical and business management positions providing cleaning and sanitizing products to the food processing industry (Food and Beverage Division of Ecolab). Since January 2003 he has been CEO of Itasca Systems. Itasca engineers, designs, and manufactures water purification equipment (including microfiltration, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis equipment).

Jack Levenson - Herndon, Virginia
Former ESOL Teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools and Experiential Educator
Jack has been counseling and working with children from non-mainstream backgrounds in VA, MD, NJ, NY, and PA for almost 15 years. He took a sabbatical in July of 2000 to be a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador where he worked in an urban school for underprivileged girls and their families (www.CENITecuador.org). He is passionate about finding resources for underserved communities and linking private sector endeavors with non-profit initiatives. Jack is also fluent in Spanish.
